Quick answers about Range anxiety, speed limits, regulatory compliance, routine maintenance

Contact support

What is the maximum speed of this e-bike, and what are the E-bike Classes in the US?

Our e-bikes are shipped as standard Class 2 (up to 20 mph with throttle and pedal assist). However, you can easily unlock the settings via the display/app to achieve Class 3 speeds (up to 28 mph, pedal-assist only), depending on local regulations.

Do I need a license, registration, or insurance to ride this e-bike in the US?

In most US states, no license, registration, or insurance is required for Class 1, 2, or 3 e-bikes. They are legally treated like regular bicycles. However, rules can vary by state and national parks. We highly recommend checking your local laws.

How far can I go on a single charge? (Range)

Range is listed per model in the Specifications table on each product page: up to 80 miles on a single charge for the AT20 PRO, AT20 PRO MAX, CT20, CT20 PRO, CT20 PRO MAX, CTR26 and ET20, and up to 50 miles for the BT20. Real-world range moves with assist level, rider weight, terrain, tire pressure, wind and temperature, so expect less in cold weather, on hills, or riding on the throttle alone.

Is the battery removable, and how long does it take to charge?

Yes, the battery is fully removable and locks with a key, so you can charge it on the bike or take it indoors. A full charge takes about 7–8 hours on most Drvetion models, and about 5–6 hours on the BT20. The exact figure for your model is listed in the Specifications table on its product page. Use only the supplied charger, and let a wet battery or charger dry completely before plugging it in.

Are your e-bikes waterproof? Can I ride in the rain?

The motor, battery, display and other electrical components are sealed against rain and dust, so light to moderate rain and wet roads are fine. Water-resistance is not the same as waterproofing: never submerge the bike or the battery, never ride through deep standing water, and never use a pressure washer on the motor, display, controller or cable connections. The headlight is rated IP65. After a wet ride, wipe the bike down and dry the connector areas before charging.

Assembly & Maintenance

Quick answers about regarding repairs, after-sales service, and spare parts.

Contact support

How much assembly is required? Do you provide tools?

Our e-bikes arrive 85% pre-assembled in a heavy-duty box. You only need to install the front wheel, handlebars, pedals, and front light. We provide an all-in-one multi-tool kit and a step-by-step video assembly guide on our website. It takes about 20–30 minutes.

How do I get my bike repaired or serviced in the US?

Drvetion e-bikes use standard bicycle parts — a Shimano 7-speed drivetrain and hydraulic disc brakes — so any competent local bike shop can service the mechanical side: tires, brakes, chain, gears and bearings. For the electrical side (motor, battery, controller, display, sensors) we ship warranty-covered replacement parts directly to you or to the shop you choose, and our support team will walk you through fitting.

What is your warranty policy?

We offer a 1-year limited warranty covering the frame, motor, battery, and controller against manufacturing defects. Normal wear-and-tear items (like tires, brake pads, and chains) are not covered.

Are the batteries and components certified for safety?

Yes. The documents we hold for these bikes are published for download on our Product Manuals page: IEC 62133 for the battery, CE for the bike together with the EMC and LVD certificates, and RoHS. If you need a certificate for a specific model, or a copy for an insurer, employer or local authority, email sale@drvetion.com with your model name and we will send it.
