Before taking a new bike onto your usual route, get familiar with the information that came with it. General articles are useful starting points, while the model manual explains the details of your own bike.
Read before setting off
Locate the manual and review the controls, checks and use instructions. If something does not match your bike or is unclear, contact support with the model and order information.
Make time to get familiar
NHTSA recommends practicing in a safe environment away from traffic when learning to ride. Choose a permitted place where you can get to know the bike without rushing. Review the before-you-ride checklist and ask for help if anything seems damaged or unfamiliar.
